I bought a graded MS62 about a year ago for $900.00.
Many of these coins that were released have not been graded
but described as "hand picked"

Jimmy, I'm kind of curious why you went with PCGS and not ICCS to get that graded? Or even the other Canadian one (the name escapes me).

Hi Libertad.
The other Canadian grader is CCCS from Montreal.
The coin was graded when I bought it.
Most of these gold 5 & 10 Dollar coins where graded by them as they were in a hardcase and had a special printed heading.

I think I would prefer slab for Gold coins... More protective I'm guessing since gold is a softer medal.

PCGS gave out numurous grades of MS-64 and higher for the 2012 BOC coins released. IMO they were very liberal with the grades given. I cannot count on one hand how many coins received MS-64 from ICCS. With that being said, IMO the value of a PCGS MS-64 and a ICCS MS-64 are not the same. Not a chance would you be able to purchase a pair these $10 gold coins ICCS MS-64 for $3200.

I think that it may be wishful thinking that book values have not changed after the recent official release of Canadian gold $5 and $10 pieces.

The market will nevertheless eventually determine at what price level they should be sold for.

They have exactly same AGW as 1/2 Eagles and Eagles.

My opinion is that the prices will come down somewhat.
That is a pity for me; I bought a 1913 gold $10 about five years ago.

Does anyone have a recent issue of CCN? It's about time they updated this coin's value, it's past due.

With the recent release.. I see the value of these coins dropping near to melt... I was ticked off when I hear about the release.. and should've sold then...

Gatewest and another dealer bought a very large quantity of these coins.. they had binders full of 'em .. all graded 63 or 64

Oh, well!
At least, my $10 has still gained on it's bullion value.
I was fortunate enough to not pay much of a premium when I bought mine.
