Have a couple of questions.
How do you quote people?
Should I open up all the Canadian coins to canada? Even though they're mostly valued at their silver content?

IBGolden : Thanks for identifying the medallions. :)

Sorry that it's not in a really good condition, lol.
If it was originally mine, I would have kept it safer. :)

Don't use the shipping centre. It adds huge fees and compulsory duty to Canada. There is usually no duty collected on coins shipped to me out of the US.

I apologize for not having shipping to Canada!
I thought I had fixed it but I needed to change my shipping exclusions again.
But it's been done.

So what do you guys think the value of the coin is going to end up at?
I put it up for 24.99, but I am wondering what it possibly might go up too.

Quote: How do you quote people? You have to do what I just did - type [quo te], copy-and-paste the text you wish to quote, then type [/quo te]. All the "quote" button on the Reply-to-Topic page does is type those quote command boxes for you; you still need to cut-and-paste the quoted text. Quote: How do I print off the poster you posted? Anyone? The same way you can print off just about any picture from the Internet - copy it and paste it into Word, or Paint, or some other program, and print it from there.

Hi all, hopefully this alerts all previous posters.
I may..have found a rather large (and heavy) gold version of this coin..
58.9 grams and 60mm to be exact.
Can anyone assist with authentication?

Start with photos.
It is possible they made one in another size, though they would have had to pay for an extra set of dies, which seems unlikely.
If gold, a centennial medal of this size is going to be worth more or less bullion content regardless. So I would just get the metal content verified by an XRF rather than worrying about whether it is a genuine new version of this medal.

Thank you, but I seem to struggle with uploading pictures. Apparently my file size is too big ;(

Looks like the same design. Does not look like a proof strike to me and I think I see touches of possible reaction with the air (i.e., corrosion). This points to a lower value metal to me.
I am going to guess this a larger brass version of the coin. Just a guess though.
Any hallmarks stamped into the edge?

Quite some time ago, I was fortunate to find a nice graded example at an area coin show for around $30 which I was quite happy to add to my collection as they are often seen ungraded and not in pristine condition. A must have for those who are into Effigies and Coats of Arms. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/ex...a177485.htmlThere are varieties of on the reverse design and the strange looking design to the right of Victoria indicates that it was a restrike. Not aware that these were struck in any other metals than gold and silver.
