There are serious dealers on ebay but buy only if they accept returns.

I mostly buy from ebay and VCoins.

For you, I'd recommend that you get your post count up. There are a lot of Canadian members here that are willing to sell you quality Canadian Coins.

JT94, welcome. Don't forget to look at Victorian Newfoundland coins, some of them are stellar.

THe Royal Canadian Mint stuff is getting way too expensive from the mint. Some of the coins are amazing, (Group of Seven, Farewell to the Penny, native themed etc), but you should always be able to get them for below issue price.

I wish they would make it easier to sell coins on this site...I have a bunch of surplus coins and mid grade coins that would be perfect for a starter collection....and ICCS certified already!

I don't find it that bad to list here, I like you can set 30 day listings.

I like to get my Canadian stuff from local coin shows. Granted, there are only a couple good shows a year and selection isn't enormous, but I usually find what I am looking for and at a decent price.

Did once upon a time.

Fishing trip of a life time. Brother, Father and me.

From poor memory think it was the Churchill River. Walleye and Pike were great. 4 days fishing with guild. A little pricey.

We were warned about the Border boys. We were on solid very good behavior

Only real gripe was the very long wait with the border patrol uniformed officers. We were in a van and these guys were unhinged on guns (we had zero guns) They hot temperately THREATENED to rip the panels out of my brand new van to find "the gun"

First issue they were looking for was any OUT BOARD MOTOR. How can you hide an out board motor in a van?

The last issue was the cigar count. I knew they would ask about smokes. I had the exact count. he made us open the bags. they were in packs of three. We had 11 packs. I claimed 33. He said I had 55, and I was in border law trouble.

I counted them -- 3-6-9-12-15-18-21-24-27-30-33.

All three uniformed border officers looked a little funny, say nothing, & waved us on to our fishing trip of a life time.

My brother went back 2 more times. The thought of ripping my van to a heap, was enough.
