Keep them till you know what you have. If you have a whole roll of them that you got from the bank, chances are they are altered on purpose. But the colors would tell us more of how they might have toned.

Ok well here is the story on all my pennies I've been searching through. I am about a month into this coin searching, and decided I would go down to the bank and buy a 50.00 bag of pennies. When I got it home I noticed 3/4 of the lower portion of the bag was older pennies. When I got done sorting them I noticed that almost all of them were the key memorial dates 69s 70s 71s and d 72s and d and so on.... That was the majority of it there are all the early copper memorial dates as well but mostly the key dates. I thought it was strange, that so many of the same dates were in one bag. My wife suggested that I probably got some bodies tailings, I suggested or maybe someones dad or grandpa that was a collector passed away and they just saw a huge collection of pennies and cashed them in for the dollar amount not knowing what they had. And then I found it...... A penny with a sticker on it. The sticker had the letter "R" on it. So I put it under my loop and noticed that the "R" was was Cud filled. After that I realized that my theory was right. I am still going through them, and separating them by category, there are a lot that I'm not sure what to categorize them under, so I will be posting many strange or possible DDO DDR pennies.

That looks like real toning. Sometimes the paper wrappers do this. Sulfur in the air can cause coins to tone. Storing coins in an envelope and make them turn black. Albums can turn BU coins or even cleaned coins. But there is something that some use that give too much of a blue or yellow color. One thing is heat. I came across a roll of 1955-S Cents that someone had dipped in soapy water an placed them over a candle ruining the cents with strange blue/yellow and green colors. But I have seen the tiger striped cents before that came out of rolls.

These are the best two I have, condition wise. Are they worth hanging on too. Or should I say, is there extra value to them.?

I would save them. Someone may want to start a toned cent collection. When I see them in coin stores, I pick them up. Who knows if they will stop toning or continue?

Just found this one in my pile tonight....
This one is extremely bright. Hard to look at under my loop. Pictures don't do it justice.
