Nice finds! I've dumped thousands of dollars in coins through counters in the past, haven't found more than a zincoln or two in the reject bin...so much for my efforts -

Funny I feel embarrassed as well but back a few years ago in the 'day of the pay phone' we always checked!

I'm "a little" embarrassed, but I'm more concerned that people will see me doing it, and they in turn will start doing it, and decrease my odds.

No shame in that at all. My wife calls me a nerd and makes fun of me for doimg it, I just tell her: "when I finally cash in all my silver and buy a new boat, you dont get to sit on it unless your cleaning it!" Maybe I will name the boat COINSTAR just as an added jab.....

I haven't ever found any coins left in the reject slot, however, I've found one silver quarter and two wheats on the floor just under the edge of the front of the machine. These occurances are rare and usually far between.

I tend to find canadian quarters in the reject. I grab them and pass them at like McDonalds. I found $5 in Canadian coinage this summer. No keepers.

This discussion prompted me to start checking. Idk why I havent before. So far just 2 modern pennies in a coinstar reject bin (odd in itself they got rejected). Maybe someday some silver. :D

People must be pretty good at getting their rejected coins out of the tray because whenever I look, I don't find anything.

very infrequent access to coinstars and then don't always check them, but even so, it's good for a healthy handful of silvers, including canadian every so often. A fair amount of wheaties, too, though don't know why they'd be rejected. Also, Canadian quarters. We live near Canada.
