I also got the email from my rep. this is such a huge premium to bullion and it would seem this type of product is more likely to track bullion prices. It would be nice to have but I don't have the experience of knowing how the numismatic premium is maintained over time for coins like this. Seems like a very pricy novelty.

Personally I consider it Art, not a coin. Being from Vancouver, I always see the sculpture that Bill Reid created, I had always said to myself if the mint ever made a coin with this on it, I would buy it.

Yes its silver, and has an intrinsic value, but also, only 99 other people in the entire world have one.

It just seems like this product would be more susceptible to bullion prices. I suppose the 150 mintage introduces the rarity factor. I'd really have to love this as a coin/collectable to give $10K as a store of weatlh. I can get an awful lot of interesting and even rare coins for $10K.

Congrats, Taro !
I sure, that one out of 3 you will leave for the collection.
If to throw money on collectibles - this will be suitable item.

I asked about a more affordable version. My rep had no information on that... then again, it could just be a secret until the 'big reveal'. I hope so. At the same time, I also hope it's not something like 50,000 of them on a 50/4/50 coin, but but a nice low mintage of 2,000 or less, but in the $100 to $200 range.

Agree, here.
IMO 50for50, 100for100 (except the Eagle) have not exactly appealing finish / design execution. And too many.

The Mintage less than 2000, according to Mint latest products, will be available for 5oz coin (Mintage 1.500) and priced $500-$550 - so this is also not the case that I'll buy the coin.

But 1oz or 2oz with mintage 6.000 and less, and priced $100 - $200 very possible scenario.

You could buy a monster box of 500 Silver Maple Leaf coins for that price, would make a nice ottoman.

I'm still waiting to win the lottery before I go out and buy one. At that point, the price of bullion vs numismatic won't matter. Jk
