I get them regularly almost daily here in Florida, the most common are 1950-1970 nickels and then 1960-1980 cents. I dont get more current dated ones that often. Not the same for s-mint quarters or dimes, I hardly ever see them. I think this answer would be different depending on where you live?
I got 2 1982p quarters today as change at gas station.

Dasaki, thanks for the correction!
When I began collecting coins, it was always P-D-S. It's boring without the S mint marks.

Having a Junior Moment but I did happen to find a 74 LMC last week going through some cents before dumping them in my 5 gallon water bottle I'm trying to fill again.

I get S-mint cents maybe 3-5 times a year in change, or 2-3 if I search a box. Nickels are much more common, especially 1968 and 70.
I did get a 1980-S dollar a few years ago when I was working as a cashier, but the odds of getting one of those back in change is pretty remote... Cashiers tend to leave them in their till unless a customer asks for it specifically.

Regularly, and as I type this post I'm sitting 9 blocks from the Philadelphia Mint.

Just last week, found a proof quarter in my laundry quarters. I'd have to go home to see which state it is, though.

Not often, but it happens. I don't think I've ever found an S-proof though.

As far as pennies is concerned I find at least one in every box I search. However when it comes to other denominations I'd have to agree that is not often that I come across one.
That's what makes them special.

A 1970 S nickel. I may still have it in my loose change, but eventually, I'll send it back to the wild.

Often enough that I jsut put them with the ones found from boxes and don't bother keeping track of them.
