Thanks for the input. So since I am new and learning...What are you seeing that is indicating the coin has been cleaned.

And I am looking at this on my phone right now and the color of the coin is much different than on my pc view. However that is simply part of my learning on taking photos.

That's a White Balance setting, and fairly easily-correctable.

The obverse looks to show hairlines running roughly east-west on the coin, a classic sign of a brushing. It won't show in all light, needing to be illuminated from the right direction to contrast the hairlines.

Thanks dave. From the photo forum to this one you are certainly getting me heading the right direction on taking pictures. And thank you to everyone else for taking the time to reply to this thread.

I agree with the "cleaned" statement but this is still pretty. Personally one of my favorite coins so I guess I might be biased!

I'll start off by saying...
1)$1.00 worth of face value 90% silver sells at one of my LCS for $15.00.
2)Those "junk silver" coins are not nearly as "perdy" as yours.
3) I'd give ya $20 for it if you were standing infront of me right now.

On the topic of selling silver by ?x "face value", does this really apply for these silver dollars? There seems to be more silver/$ in face value for silver dollars, in addition they seem to be more collectible than normal "junk" silver. That being said, I too would pay $20 a coin like that.

I paid $20. So it appears I was in the right ballpark with the purchase. Thanks!

Hi I'm not familiar with US coins. This is 1922 Peace dollar. Please suggest grade and confirm its 'normal' relief, thanks ErikP.
