Not bad for 2 cents a piece.

Wow wonderful deals. I love a BU copper cent. I wish I could have these and upgrade. What a great deal. Smart for taking those off his hands!

Awesome find. I would buy any and all bu copper rolls I could get for a dollar a piece. Would love hunting for varieties, and higher grades.

Lightly score the plastic tubes with an sharp knife, just enough to put a nice score in the plastic, heat lightly with a hair dryer, and the tubes will split easily.

Thanks acloco. I hadn't thought of scoring and a hair dryer. Much appreciated.

Here's some more photos. I've separated all of them by date and mint mark. My next goal is to go back through them and cherry-pick the best coins from the rolls. I'm amazed at the condition of the 60's era coins! As far as I can tell, I didn't find any small-date 70's.

I still have 6 rolls that I can't get into. 2 59d, 2 59p, 60d sm-date, and a 61p. I don't own a hair dryer here at home, but I do have one that I use at work.

Wow, these are nice. Odds are that you will find at least 1 really beautiful coin in each roll.

Nice score. The old copper cents have a nice look to them, even after circulated.
The Zincolns are pot metal garbage.

to the OP, since you can't melt pennies... "less than melt" doesn't mean much.
