Happy Birthday, AgCoinAu! We won't ask what birthday it was, but may there be many more such birthdays and many more beautiful large cents like that one.

First thank you to all ... For the kind replies. Slur.. I have copied that image and made it my wallpaper such a nice thought! Pertinax the coin by UK standards may grade VF.... But here with ICCS it's a 65 RED. (LoL)
My question to everyone though is the weak strike common for this coin?
This is my first 65 coin ..... But the N in cents looks almost non existent

That couldn't be described as VF.
As I said, the Canadian penny looks BU to me, possibly Gem BU.
I always try to buy a nice coin for my birthday, though without a wife to hold me back, I sometimes get carried away.

Pertinax... I was only kidding it's my understanding that the grading standards in the UK can be a lot higher...
I kind of like the thought of buying one really nice coin for each birthday...a bit of significance to the collection.
Anyways this weekend has been fantastic!! And part of the reason is this pick up and my relatively new found love for collecting I just really wanted to share b/c this forum is a big reason why I like collecting... The community and the sharing of knowledge

The dies wear,..but a fresh strike with old dies still leaves it as a gem BU..but many details fade away...but that won't change the grade.

AG hope you had a great day. That large cent is rather Gemmy looking. I am going to think ICCS MS65 Red. Now for the rest of the set ! That at the rate of one a year will take you up to the start of collecting OAP! ! Hope all is well thanks for the email! JN
