Good to hear that you are still swinging for the fences Mike...

Indeed I do Mike... it was nice to be able to see Gordon Lightfoot play last month, even though his pipes aren't what they used to be... right now, my new favourite Lightfoot song is the Canadian Railroad Trilogy.

^^ I loved Gordon live. You are right that his pipes aren't what they used to be, but isn't he turning 80 this year? I'ma big fan of "wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", but Canadian Railroad Trilogy will always be in my top three.
Well MM I for one can say with certainty that I'm very grateful for all the work you have done... I'm sorry that the road has been laden with speed bumps and switchbacks..
My knowledge is pretty minimal.. and skills are few.. but if there is absolutely any way I can help.. feel free to let me know...
Here a article from Toronto star on mike hard at work again.
In the article I find it hard to believe the mint statement
Counterfeit currency is "something everyone in this business has to manage on an ongoing basis," says Alex Reeves, of the Royal Canadian Mint.
Counterfeiting is a criminal offence, and the mint regularly collaborates with domestic and international law enforcement, Reeves said. The mint authenticates potential counterfeit coins and provides information that helps speed up detection.
According to CCN, fake bar and coin GML with a tungsten core and a 60 micron gold plating have shown up on Alibaba. Wholesale price $250 to $500 each, depending on quantity.
Of course, since this is a threat to the RCM's business and not merely the collector market, the RCM is actually actively fighting this counterfeiting.
Happy Belated Birthday Mike, you're a to me with your tireless efforts to rid the collecting community of counterfeits. A true Canadian coin collecting Superhero . I wish you your greatest success in the coming year. Let me know of any ways I can be of service to your coin crime fighting endeavours. Since ebay disbanded their coin watch group, in may 2014, I've stopped reporting coins. I look forward to the new information you will be posting.
I really wish there was an area in the Candian sub forums, that contained all the threads on counterfeit coins - a one stop shop - if a person wanted to read up on fakes and counterfeits. My reason not all titles are easily searchable or contain key words in the title. It took me awhile to learn how to post a descriptive and concise title. It's not everyone, who will take the time to craft a searchable title. I'm also horrible at doing searches with my iPhone, which is all I use for the Internet. I feel it would also help those of us, who tend to only hangout in one sub form, thereby missing crucial information, which is posted in the other sub forums. Example I don't read any of the threads in the two middle Canuck sub forums. I'm not into varieties and I'm too new to contribute to grading, especially when viewing posts on my phone.
All which 2015 Charlton catalog has your work on counterfeits. My 2015 Nclt one arrived yesterday and I have had a chance to go through it. I applaud your efforts in devoting time, to contribute your knowledge to a Charlton catalog!!
