Interesting video, thanks. The guys opening the roll looked and sounded professional, but sounded like they really thought the coins were in the roll for over 100 years

I quit watching the moment the one guy started dragging stacks across the tabletop. They don't know what they're doing.

so tell me folks....where does this roll smell fishy and give you the true sense that it is a composed roll? I have my hunch and I will post it after three people post their thoughts.... :)

(and I am not talking anything about the paper roll)

They are both ametuers. You can tell by their lingo and the way they bang those coins around.
One guy blew out the airtite with his mouth adding saliva before sealing.
Not very smart.

no takers I guess.... lol
to me what really makes it stand out to me that it was a composed roll (recently rolled up) is that there were coins all of similar grade spanning from 1879 to 1904...really? 25 years worth of coins in a period mixed roll and they are all the same condition....ya right

Exactly. Morgans were put in canvas bags transported by coach to various banks.
There was no point in rolling them. They were distributed in mass bulk.

Looks like dipped Morgans in the video above. Yeah an "original bank roll" lol.
Vermontesium, u are right on the bags. I once read that often banks would use bags of them as door stops.

If they wanted an 1885-cc they could have saved time and money by just buying this one in MS-66

I'm starting to think that big ebay traders may be using these roll and jar gimmicks to off-load their dead stock. Coins that won't slab, common dates, modern coin slabs, etc. There's not a strong market for mass quantities of low mint state Morgan commons. But there are mass quantities for sure.

Has to be one of the goofiest videos ever. Wearing gloves then sliding the coins across the table -- not to mention speaking over them. For the most part they didn't even show the coins.

OcalaFlorida, we have software which parses people's posts for acronyms and words in our Glossary. Occasionally, as you just found, it gets....enthusiastic. It saw a CAM, and wanted to link the definition.

Let's try it again in quotes.

But seriously, when I started viewing the video my first thought was that it was part of the....charade.

The seller joined ebay in Nov-2013 and had lots of lower dollar value feedback before going big-time.
