Extremely cool. I didn't know these existed, and now I'll have to keep an eye out for them in the future.

I admit to having absolutely zero expertise on the topic ... and do not own a single ancient coin.
That said ... I respect the knowledge necessary to pursue and acquire such an example ... as well as the collecting enthusiasm which is universal to all of us.
Well found ... hopeful for you that the coin is agreeable once in hand.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks all! For those that may be having trouble seeing it I outlined with red the letters of the countermark:

A correction: the shipping cost was more than expected so now I paid slightly more than $50. But the coin by itself was less that.

Braggart !
I love it when I find something special And pay a pittance for it !
I would not have put it all together and probably would have passed on it. But knowledge is a dangerous thing ! I am positively GREEEEEN with envy.
Great find

@ FR - Thanks! I was not expecting to find this at all. Wading through the lower-priced coins it just struck me out of nowhere. Then and there I knew it had to me mine. @ The Silver Searcher - glad to see non-ancient collectors find interest in my new coin, even just in something ancient for that matter. It's never too late to delve into the world of ancient coins This subforum will definitely help you out if you choose to.

That is really nice VK. I had no idea about the significance of those marks and have been keeping an eye open for similar, to no avail :)

Thanks guys! Yeah, I know how you feel Pish. I would occasionally look at imperial bronzes hoping find this countermark but find nothing, and was really taken by surprise when I came across this one.
