this one is mine, I bought the cheapest still identifiable one I could find- -- 43 grams 37 mm
anyone know what what the lines are that are going all around it?

Yours in in wonderful shape comnpared to mine above. Apart from the countermark which is clearly Ptolemaic mine would grade as Poor-1.

Those lines on yours look like harsh cleaning. If you decide to soak the coin for some time, most of it should vanish.

That coin looks like it still has quite a bit of dirt on it, give it a soak in distilled water or olive oil for a couple of weeks to see if it removes some of it. Depending on how hick the dirt is you might have to let is soak for a long time.

You know arnoldoe that you are not even noticing that it has some sort of a 'counterstamp' on the reverse.
It appears to be some sort of "cat" perhaps ? Counterstamped bronzes are very desirable.
If you can do some conservation on it the coin might be a very nice find.

I know next to nothing about countermarked ancients.
I picked up a Claudius sestertius recently because it had a Nero mark on it.

I remember when I bought my Ptolemy, it was so exciting to have such a giant coin, I still love it, they are wonderful coins.
