I started at another VERY popular forum and was treated very badly and unfairly by SOME moderators and by the ADMIN PETER who disparaged me, made fun of me and LIED about me. That forum is full of right wing nut jobs.

Then another forum member invited me here and this place is great. thanks.

I also belong to a VERY popular forum, in addition to C.C.
and their are intelligent, experienced people on c.c. and the other one.
I am amazed at the depth of knowledge of the posts I read on both.
One forum however, gets more responses than the other.
I value others opinions and learn from these forums. Especially about
grading. Don't trust my own skills, others seem to grade my coins higher.

I only post on this forum. I've looked some others, but this one seems the easiest to interact on. Gotta give credit to Mom & Dad and the large number of regulars who give this forum it's personality. Learning about coins is a process and it helps to have people around who are willing to share their knowledge and experience.

Nope. My insanity is only contained on this forum. I guess you guys lucked out Through, on slow periods on CC I'll take a peek at the PCGS forum and if I'm really desperate I'll stop by cointalk.

I belong to a couple of other forums. I generally post here when I post, but I read everything that I can. When I do post elsewhere, it is always as tcekolin.

Originally forums and chat-rooms were two separate ways to communicate. Forums were a useful tool to post a question to begin a discussion and have people reply when they were able to get on-line which kept things focused. Chat rooms were the place where you could go to talk about yourself, your viewpoints, politics, and get off-topic as much as you wanted to. Lately I've noticed that forums are being flooded with "chat room" behavior.

I'm a member of another coin forum, but over there it isn't as organized as this one nor as informative. This forum has knowledgeable people that WANT to share and explain things clearly. The other forum h4s pplease try1ng 0uT th31r l33t 1ntern3t lingo, short answers, and threads go off-topic into politics, personal viewpoints, arguments, etc. all the time. Basically they are exhibiting "chat room" behavior on a forum. For example, I remember a thread concerning the new presidential wives coins where the original thread started out with a serious inquiry regarding the series. Within 1 or 2 responses it began to go off-topic, never got back on track, and turned into a bashing session regarding that series and on into politics.

Anyway, I feel this is the best coin forum out there

I agree! People here tend to focus on contributing interesting and valuable information. They try not to get too far off topic or hijack a thread. This place is working amazingly well. I have learned a lot. Thank you everyone

It's a testament to the members here, it really is.

It's very rare that a topic goes too far astray here and when it does, one of the staff will split the straying posts into a new topic in the appropriate forum very early on. They will then email the members whose posts got split so they know where they went. Most of you don't even notice.

CC is the only coin forum I belong to or visit. A couple of years ago I looked at other forums and found a lot of people constantly flaming each other over stupid stuff that didn't matter anyway. They weren't very helpful to novice collectors either. I found CC and members that really do know about their specialty and haven't really looked anywhere else. Two thumbs up to mom & dad for CC being a success!

FroDaddy. What you discribed is true of many of the other coin forums. For sure about the getting off track of the question. Some you could ask what is a Wheat cent and end up after a few answers with almost a fist fight if possible over the internet.
We too have a few nuts, me, but in general, this is a great coin web site.
