imo... they are meant to be hugged, handled, fondled....loved, in precisely the manner you describe.....

As long as you "fiddle" with them properly I see no problem. 2x2's are like 3 cents each, sooo. Enjoy your coins.

'fiddle' is probably the wrong word... 'fondle' is more what I do...

For some reason this clip came to mind.

Sorry, inappropriate for a family friendly forum.

Probably not as much as I used to. I do enjoy flipping through albums when I get the chance.

My greatest joy as a collector is to be able to share with my Grandson (7 years old). My Sons never showed any interest in coins (I never even thought about pushing them) or collecting. It is wonderful to see him learning and enjoying my lifetime passion... I have certain coins that he's allowed to handle. It's absolutely a must that kids (and old timers) get to handle the right coins...

I don't fiddle with mine enough. All my folders are on top of a dresser in my bed room, but I rarely look at them. Even worse, my rarer coins are stashed away in a box on the floor of my closet. I look at them maybe once or twice a year. : ( About the only time I look at them is if I have an idea for a post on this website and I need to refer to them.

I think you need to make more time for your coins. Is it a time problem or an interest problem?

Sounds like it could also be a hassle problem.

I love astronomy, but it's a rare occasion when I have it in me to lug the 30 lbs of telescope and accessories out into the backyard, set it all up, have fun for an hour, then break it all down, and lug it back inside.

Handling and enjoying the beauty of silver or gold coins and bars is like having a trophy wife or girl friend meant for you to hold and enjoy the beauty. Just saying although I could be wrong" If anyone actually thinks this is wrong please post explanation so all can see"

I collect ancient Romans and have them all in 2x2 flips. At night I will often take them out and look at them while my wife and I are watching TV.

On more than one occasion she has said to me, "Don't you ever get tired of looking at them?"

You know the answer.
