but I suspect he will only remain silent and delete the incriminating image.

Yup he did, but not before I saved the photos.

Here is one from just now. One of the pictures (the third one) is missing. But you can still see the rim nick at 1 o'clock (magnified).

I would really like to see a copy of the email that Kefiroth sent him.

"Hello there! I notice that you have a magic coin that can float in and out of a sealed jar! Where did you come across such a fantastic piece? The only time I've ever seen such a thing was when I swam the Bermuda Triangle!"

I am sure he goes silent. Try making him an offer on the gold Indian and see what happens!

Isn't it technically not allowed by ebay policy to state the value of a coin or make a 'chance' listing?

So, which came first ... the jar or the pile? Errr, I guess it's all a pile!

What is the worst is that in is listing with the jar not broken there are 1940's mercs mixed in with Trade dollars (not even legal tender in the US) and 1700's coins.
In response to their wide distribution in American commerce, the coins were officially demonetized in 1876, but continued to circulate. Production of business strikes ended in 1878, though the mintage of proof coins officially continued until 1883. The Trade dollar was re-monetized when the Coinage Act of 1965 was signed into law.

Now the Trade dollar is legal tender again in the United States.

I reported the listings as fraudulent last night after seeing your post in the other thread. I found it interesting that it is impossible to link the two listings to a single report, there is no comment section to describe details about the fraud, and their regular comment method prevents inclusion of the listing links or even the item numbers in a comment. ebay is like the three hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil monkeys.

I've noticed jeffscoins' listings on ebay for a number of months now ... and now I run across a fair number of these "jar" listings from other sellers. Guess he started something huh? I'd guess few if any are legit.

jeffscoins current listing for a single US gold coin (item #271733283374) still has the photo that was mentioned at the beginning of this thread, showing the 1907 damning evidence. He's also put a "legal" warning to others about using his photos, etc.
