In three months time ive went from knowing nothing to learning about double dies by posting coins and listening to Coops knowledge and studying his posts. Jan 1 this year I posted a 1972 die 2 thinking it was a die 4. Since than I have been searching tireslyfor that die. Never in a million years would I have expected what was in that wrap. Luck is definately a companion of the persistant.

Better images would be needed to know what you have. I'm not seeing hub doubling on your coin yet.

What makes you think this is die #4 ? Rim Cuds appear on many 1972 cents and are not an exclusive marker. I honestly don't even see it as a doubled die with the pics provided.

Sorry it took so long to post. I do not have the right camera set up to take propper images. That being said there is seperation clockwise on speciman and all the markers are there. Although I cant get it verified through here the original question of the post is What is the first thing I should do if the find is substantial?

Well I would suggest sending it to wexlers, to verify, if we are unable to verify for you via pictures, if he agrees with you, then off to anacs.

You would be better off sending to Wexler who is a pro then a local coin shop guy,IMHO.

I agree I had an S.B.A DDR which would have been the first one and guy at coin shop verified it was and wexler verified it wasn't. Now that I'm a little more knowledgeable I can agree it wasnt. But the coin ship guy sure didn't know lol
