It's amazing that I've actually thought about this, even though it's only a 1 in 10 chance I will get 5m. Okay, 1 in 12. I'd fill a 7070 with strikingly toned coins. What's left over would go to the dogs (Humane society, etc.).

i voted have fun with the money...that includes just about all of the things you listed....investing, collecting, travelling, big ticket items, etc...would be my life--not mention the amount of hurting people I could help (we own an orphanage in brazil and it would be great to help the kids.)

First I would give about a million to got old Uncle Sam...not out of choice mind you ;)

I'd probably go with the small business idea. Open up a nice little deli/cornerstore/cafe sorta dealie. I've always thought that would be fun.

With the rest..well I'd just sit on it mostly. Through it all in the bank! I'd still be the penny-pincher that I am today so I would take the interest and cut it in two--half goes into my pocket to be spent (along with the merger proftis from my store thats comfortable living) and but the other half back into the bank, thus creating more money to gain interest on the next year. After I built up my account, I'd start withdrawing some every year and stuffing in my own private vault (could afford one you know haha). Buy some gold, silver and the like and just put it away for future generations.

Oh, and i'd buy some nice shiny keys dates!

$5,000,000.00. Not a lot, at todays highly inflated prices, but it would be worth 10 times that when I returned to Mexico! There the lottery is a great opportunity ti win. I have played, and I have won, and lost. The nice thing about it is that you win something, or the big one, you pay 15%, on the spot. Ine doesn't have to worry about paying the taxes on it, because the tax is deducted before you receive it. Incone tax there used to be 3% for business. No exemptions, no deductions. No matter how many kids, etc. 3%. You becha, Id'd be gone in a flash! And , I'd take my Navy pension, and Social Security checks with me!

"Nope, New Zealand is tooooo cold! I have a friend who lives there"

New Zealand isn't cold. Unless your friend lives on the south island way up in the mountains, it is pretty warm there year round. The north island only gets snow on the mountain tops in the winter. The North island usually doesn't get below the mid 30's in temp. Sounds like my kind of place. Currently we have had over 80 inches of snow already this year. And they are predicting 2 more storms this week.

Buy a small house on the lake (big houses are way over rated) start a small greenhouse business(been gardening and starting from seed for years)and what left live off the interest, no need to live extravagantly (that way over rated also)

I'd buy a nice house on a good fishing lake. Buy a new bassboat and truck. Invest some, live off the interest and splurge here and there. At any rate, never work again...open a coin shop for extra cash :D

"Have a date with Paris Hilton"..................WHY??

And I'm sure it would not cost 5 million to go on a date with her. But it still leads to WHY?
