Thailand is P#102 and was made in 1997-2004 and has 4 signatures. Based on what I can see from the signatures, it looks to be signed by Jatusripitak-Devakula which would make it a 2002 issue

Zambia is P#38f which has signature 12 and is from 2006

Could you put up the Antarctica bills? I didn't think anyone lived there except for a few research scientists.

Do you buy the notes for face value?
arent they just regular bills of that country. or are they made special and not issued for circulation.

The bills are not legal tender money of Antarctica or anywhere else, but they are honored for their face value throughout their validity period.
The bills are printed by the British American Banknote Co., using four color lithography on woven paper with numerous security features.

Usually you can pick them up off of ebay at face or just a little over face value + shipping

I had started putting things on banknotebank and some are still there. There are a few hundred more to do.
But then I got lazy and just haven't done anymore of it yet. I might start again since funds have become very tight.

I still have alot of bulk coins to go through also. I guess I might have to stop hoarding and put them into some kind of order.

Greetings Everyone,

Its nice to see that there are some here who collect polymer currency. Been collecting the stuff (and also tyvek currency) for over 10 years and always on the lookout for new additions to my collection. I have a site on polymer/tyvek notes in Yahoo Groups - but due to me being a newp here and because of the forum rules, I cannot place a link until I post an X amount of postings (which I feel is unfair.) The best way to find my site is to go to Yahoo and click on the groups link, then do a search.

If anyone here has any questions on polymer/tyvek currency, just reply here. And good luck to all on your collecting endeavors.

How would I know if I have some of this polymer currency? Is it the stuff that feels kind of like a mix of paper and plastic?

Hi Malissa, most polymer notes are all plastic. Most have a tansparent window on the note that you can see through.

Here is a link to Stane Straus website on polymernotes. If you click on a country on the left side it will show you polymer note from that country.
