Could be a nice die crack, but really can't tell if coin is genuine without seeing whole coin obverse and reverse

I agree, looks like a regular die crack. From what I see so far, the coin looks genuine but only full pictures will confirm this.

Whole coin. Shouldn't a die crack show up on a lot of coins?

Definitely a die crack. That is actually a good sign that your coin is genuine.

so listed as a MS 65. How about the grade? Sorry photos are not better. Is it a new hobby for me.

Looks like you have a couple die cracks the one through the R and maybe one running from the ribbon to the star above Pluribus. On the obverse liberty is looking at a long one running though the stars. I like the die cracks like that.

I'd say the grade is close. That's one gorgeous coin.

It may well. That die could have struck 200,000 coins.

I'm really leery about grading for certain from these images, given the possible grade at stake. This could be a $200 AU58, or a $1500 MS65, and the images will not show the difference. Buying this raw as an MS65 is taking a big chance.

Very nice Barber quarter. IMO warrants MS-65. some folks like die cracks. I'm not a fan.

Die crack - happens at the end of the life of the die.
Nice coin, BTW

Yes it is a big chance. new to this and now learning that unslabbed high grade coins are a risk. So when I saw this "flaw" I immediately jumped to the conclusion that its counterfeit. I'm working on improving my photo skills/hardware. So if I get a better pic i'll post it in the grading forum. Thanks for all your help. I think i'll be using this resource a lot.
