I started to bid on the NGC PF63 and the carbon spots really changed my mind. I do not know a lot about them and how they progress, if they can be stopped or anything else except they are bad. I know they can not be removed and have read as long as they are kept properly they will not progress, that is a chance I do not think I would want to take on a 200+ coin.

I was tempted, but the spots were just too distracting and Ducky helped convince me to wait. Since this coin is the start of the series for me, I want to have a nice one. Up to now, I've been going for completion over quality, I think the 1936 will be an exception. I still need the 1941 and 1951 too, I'm just grabbing whatever I can get for those so I can be finished.

OK, I'm going to add the 81 T2 to my wish list. Now that I have the 51, I truly only need 2 more coins, the 36 and 81 T2. Last night I got all my non-slabbed proofs into airtites using my acetone procedure, no oxidation/hazing for my coins! YAY!

Anyone else make progress with their proof collection? Been pretty quiet in this thread.

Thad In the last month I have had around 50 proof Lincolns go through my hands ,,none of which made it into my collection as keeper coins ,,many have already been put back into the market place for those who collect varied colors and less than 68 grade with light or no cameo rim bumps, and hairline patches. Im kinda picky about my proof coins .well I'm a little picky about my Unc's also but not to the extent Iam with the proof coins ! Metalman Im not one to ring my own bell ,,but you should see the Christmas gift I got from a very close and dear forum friend ! Double 60 proof set ,,both large and small date ! I will follow up with pic's when I have the time to do them justice !
