Hope I get mine soon. It was sent via media mail and that is usually very slow.

Earliest I have is the 1967 Centennial Edition (15th edition), in near perfect condition. It still amazes me how the coin photographs from that era are still better than anything I can take with present-day technology. :P

Looks like my library has it all the way back to the 5th (1957) edition. I haven't seen a catalogue printed before the 60s, I'm going to try borrow it just to see what it looks like.

Thanks CoinHunter, for showing a page from that catalogue. Any way you could show us the pre 1948 dollars page and the post 1957 page for the silver dollars?

I am finding the new edition is missing things like modern uncirculated sets and specimen sets and coins.

What you have is Volume One for circulating coins. You have to get Volume Two for NCLT and non circulating sets.

Stopped into chapters today.Thought I'd pick up the latest Charlton since mine is 2006 and maybe get the Bank Notes as well. $24.99 for volume 1, $34.99 for volume 2 and ( I think) 34.99 for Bank Notes. Thats over a hundred dollars if you count the tax. So maybe next year.

Shop around(& the internet) and you'll find them for less, especially if you are in the US. But you have to be careful with buying in the US since the price for the book is in Canadian $$ and the US dollar is worth $1.25 Canadian.

Are the two Charlton books *the* standard reference series for one who is beginning to start a Canadian coin collection and trying to figure out what these Canadian coins are that I " inherited"?
