Question For All The 7070 Collectors

I am beginning to think as barryg that Dansco will not ever complete the update that they said was going be released by the end of either July or September of 2013. I have not seen a manufacturer stop production of such a popular product even when it was announced there was going to be updates to it. Those manufacturers which did stop production of a product had the updated version on the market very quickly so as to keep any loss of revenues to a minimum.

There have been a number of good suggestions for alternatives and since the 7070 album is hard to locate and very pricey you now have the opportunity to customize a pseudo 7070 as you wish. You can start with the types included and add additional varieties for each denomination as desired then store the coins in the method that you feel most comfortable with.

As a person who is considering about buying a 7070 in the near future...do you have to add pages to the album eventually? Like does a standard Dansco 7070 come with pages for the gold coins as well? I've also seen pictures of a 7070 that had slots for commemorative issues and the 1976 bicentennial issues. Do these pages come with the album or do you have to buy and add these individual pages later?

The problem is that Dansco makes most of their money in other areas of business. I suppose they have no problem making the albums, they just do not want to deal with the layout design.

I have no idea why they stopped making the existing design. I can see if they were worried about being stuck with outdated albums, but that only makes sense if the updated version was going to be an near immediate release.

Our rules are there for the protection of the membership. We hold everyone to them, even folks like CL_ who certainly seems like an honest person. I called Dansco, who said the new type album is expected sometime "this year". But someone lese got the same answer from them in early 2014.

Well I certainly didn't mean to ruffle any feathers! Funny enough I just won an auction for a 7070 on ebay and didn't notice until I got the receipt from PayPal that it was from superdave haha

I love it when we keep it in the family.
