"Someone making a year set?"
No, just coincidence, I am working on a type set and I like to match dates when I can.

I see. Maybe you should make a year set, bet it would one of the few 1807 year sets around. The Half Cent and cent shouldn't be too bad to obtain but the dollar will be the killer.

I can't pick just one coin...... The Jamestown $5.00 gold ..... 9 Large cents.......my Dad giving me a Carson City Morgan $570.00 value ( Red Book)....... Indian Heads...... different Barber varieties...... 1000 Wheat head pennies at an estate auction for $50.00 that were UNSEARCHED BY ANYONE EXCEPT THE GUY WHO DIED WHO HAD THEM ! And I was the first one at the auction so no one else looked at them.......produced many goodies......... Yeah it was a good year for me ! (made some bad choices too though)

Mine would be this Trade dollar. I've always liked them and was finally able to get one. Honorable mention: The coin that started my Shield nickel obsession.

I don't have a single favorite coin from this year. 2007 was notable mainly because I got back into coin collecting this year. My aunt had been storing my collection for the past 20 years while I was finishing school - it took my longer than most :-) and working my way into a stable job. She sent my collection this year around my birthday and I've been sorting and cataloging it for the past month. I've also been reading up on all that I missed in the past 20 years. There's so much new information out there and this forum has been very valuable for me! Thanks to everyone.
I'm looking forward to building my collection during 2008 and this time next year I will hopefully have coins as beautiful as you are all posting now.

I like those Trade dollars too, but I've never taken the opportunity to buy one........they are cool and I think I will this new year. I also like those Shield nickels, but I only have a few and they're not a wonderful grade like that one of yours above here ! I want some like that !!

I just got back into collecting in '07. My favorite so far has been my 1931S Lincoln in AU. First purchase at a coin show as well.

This is possibly my 2007 favorite: 1851-C gold dollar, graded AU-55 by PCGS. Love those branch mint gold coins!
