In cases like this one has to wonder just which is more amazing: the apparent blatant dishonesty of the seller or the incredible ignorance of the buyer.

The incredible ignorance of the average individual who pretends to be a numismatist.................hands down. The crooked seller knows exactly what they are up to. Just my opinion.

I think it is high time that ebay made it mandatory for all coin sellers to either be ANA ( or a similar numismatic organization) members with a strong code of ethics and have that number posted in every coin listing for verification. Also make it mandatory that there be no coin sellers allowed from countries that knowingly counterfeit coins for resale. Ie China.. If the counterfeit seller is in the USA or Canada turn the information over to the local authorities. Unless some drastic steps are taken this will kill the hobby for many. |

Posting these counterfeits on the forum so that as many people as possible can report it is one of the best defenses we have against them. Keep them coming!
