Pic #5 shows a VLDS liberty . The profile on the bust could be something but l will venture chatting Machine Doubling. This seems to be supported by the pic of IN GOD that showed MD.

I'm sitting here going . I will wait for the pros. One think I was thinking is acid damage in the bottom left quadrant but I don't know.

It is a business strike coin. These are only struck once. Si it is MD during the single strike. Just sloppy die movement that is localized. It is were struck several times, then the other devices would be affected. That is not the case on this coin. Normal die, struck once with machine damage on the bust. (machine damage shows up on the edge of the bust. On a hub doubled example the doubling is away from the edge of the bust)

Looks almost etched in as if by acid or a CENTRIFUGAL WIRE BRUSH.

If it had been whizzed /brushed that dramatically would it not have drug up a edge of metal defining a leading edge of the letters ?

Sorry, another thought . If it were acid wouldn't it have eather just smoothed that area or created an embossed 1960's era "woodie" look following the impurities in th planchet.
