a paquet reverse wasn't made in proof and no gold piece I have seen has this DPL finish except on proofs which this isn't

Quote: a paquet reverse wasn't made in proof That is true for the San Francisco business strikes but it was made in proof on the two Philadelphia pattern pieces. Note this doesn't have an S mintmark. It's intended to be one of the pattern pieces.....but it is still a fake.
