It does look like the one on coppercoins. I was wrong. I was looking at the WE and saw the reduction in size, so that is what I was basing my opinion on. I agree seeing the date would help a lot more:

Not the harry potter snitch! It's a details coin
Not worth as much, considering the low grade and the fact that it was carved into. Might still appeal to harry potter fans, tough

Nice find. I found one a little while back and it is in AG condition, I was offered 20.00 for it a few months ago. Not sure what yours would go for with the carving on the reverse but still a really cool coin to find.

The carving almost looks familiar. I don't think it's an A. To me it just looks like part of the design. Maybe someone carved a military insignia on it or something. Either way I reckon it hurts the value, but it's still a nice DD. (doubled die) not like your title, double die.

The "A" carving looks more like a stylized rose to me, or the Google Chrome symbol with leaves.

If it were mine, I would try to identify the symbol. It may have some collector value based on that.
Google has an image search that you can use to find photos that are similar, you could give that a try.

The symbol looks to me like the golden snitch from Harry Potter!
