That cent looks very nice, it has the colour I like.
I grade this coin VF20, and it does seem to be N-8.

Another excellent cent.
Middle dates have been a passion of mine lately.
This is an excellent example of the N-8 die marriage which is an R.3. This coin is a middle die state coin. The die maker's scribe line is clearly visible between the rim and the stars on the left side of the obverse.
As far as grade I will grade this coin as an EAC 25 which would grade VF-30 to VF-35 by the TPGs.
This coin has a great honest color. The spots are annoying but are original.
Overall excellent piece.

Celticsoul----It looks like you and others put a lot of time and effort in attributing these coppers. I appreciate it. Are there many collectors today that collect by varieties and is there a good reference on values out there?

There is a publication "Noyes Penny Prices" that lists prices by variety but it is difficult to obtain. Usually I log in to the Heritage Auctions archive pages to see what similar coins have sold for in the past. Some varieties have little premium attached to them unless they are R.4 or above.

VF30 also. I tend to like more chocolate color but this is still nice. The spots are a little distracting and affect the eye appeal a little

Heritage "usually" has several examples of every die variety in their archives, which is really amazing when you think about it.
