Nice example with honest wear G-8 with scratches and rim slag.
Check for 9 over 9 inverted variety...I think you have one there!

Thank you, GERMANICVS, the primary reason I purchased the coin was the lack of environmental damage that is all too common in this series. The only thing that concerns me is the anomaly at 5:00 on the obverse.

Don't know if it is a die crack or rim hit or what.

I will certainly check, atlas, didn't realize I might have that variety.

Thanks SSK! I do enjoy it myself!

As for the variety check, I'm having a little trouble. The "9" in the date does have a little something in between the crescent at the bottom and the loop of the top, but I am not seeing any other diagnostics.

For example, the 1809 over inverted 9 usually has a small protrusion coming out of the right side of the "9" that shows the previous number underneath, whereas mine does not.

I will see if I can't get some nice photos of the date posted and will let the real experts chime in.

So, after some thorough research, I believe I do NOT have the 1809/6, or 1809 over inverted 9, (they both refer to the same thing) variety.

Oh well, I still like it!

F-12 mainly due to the rim wear on the reverse. Nice coin!

The variety is C-6, not C-5 (9/6) as others have stated correctly above. This is a quick one to attribute due to the leaf positions past the last S in STATES. It's the only variety with that positioning. The line below 09 in the date is odd, I haven't seen that before. The red coloring in the fields on the reverse is going to make this an environmentally damaged details coin. I'm not higher than Fine on details.
