These were a special label promotion done by silver dollar dealer Les Fox. He was going to do I believe 10,000 sets withthe coins signed by the designers. He also did a second set/series with the coin labels having President Gerald Ford's signature on them. (Because he was the President that signed the Bicentennial coin bill into law.) These were made back around 2002. I seriously doubt he ever made the full production run. These were I think the first signature slabs.

That wooden box presentation looks great. If I didn't have other things to spend $125 on, I'd consider it...

PCGS has had important people sign slabs before. Here's one from my collection...

Coins like this also have me wondering if the phrase "buy the coin and not the slab" has any exceptions.

I think you'd be buying the signature in this case, but that's OK. You still get the coin with a nice presentation.

I bought something similar a while back. It's the silver unc quarter and half (couldn't find the dollar) and it says "Artist's reunion" on the slabs. They are signed by the designers like these.

Last year I got a pcgs submition back and in it were 2 extra coins. 1986 statue of liberty commemoratives with the labels signed by pcgs founder David hall in commemoration of 50 million items authenticated. Funny thing is only 500 were made and put into random returning submitions from what I subsequently found which I had no idea of at the time online because I could find anything about them until others started getting them. I just thought it was a promo thing. Who knows if those will be collectible. Maybe I should start a thread with pics. Any who this thread just made me remember those

I did end up picking up the other set that came in.
The box does have a couple hits on it ...
but I do like how the coins look, in the box.
