Here's the last auction this coin was in. It's hard comparing pics because the ones posted here are washed out, as the others here have said.

Maybe this was taken with maximum diffusion (light tent, paper-cone diffuser, etc.)?

... the seller could be washing it out to hide the cheek breaks and cause newbs to think it will bean or upgrade?

Aces,

Thanks for the Sacks photo. The barcode and label appear to be the same on both photos and there are some marks that appear to be the same on both coins. I guess this is a great example of how not take photos and sell coins.

I would say this is a "Scan" and not a photo.
Scanned images hardly ever show "luster"

Proof like coins are the most difficult coins to photograph well. This one being an MS66 would most definitely not have cheek breaks to hide.

What is best economical camera to take to upload pics to this forum? I don't know much about this stuff but I would like to show some of my coins here.

Terry,

There is a section on the site where you will get a much better response to your question under Coin Photography. I am on my second camera with macro function for under $200, but I can tell you that lighting is just as important as the camera for taking coin photos.

... most people don't realize it's not the objects that we are seeing, it is the light reflecting off of of them

I would have to agree with trout. Scanned would get my vote too.
