Hi,
I listen to Books on Tape on my long drive to and from each year.
I grabbed this one on a whim because it was available to download, but it has turned out to be a great read so far - I mean listen.
Angels Flight by Michael Connelly. It is a Murder Mystery based in Los Angeles and has a racially charged plot(LA post OJ/Rodney King).

I went to the library and reviewed all suggestions and picked one author that caught my attention. If no one else makes any other suggestions by the cut off date Jan 7th, this pick will be called the winner.
So..if you want to eliminate the one chosen so far, give me more authors, more suggestions. mila_

Hi Sylvia, Not sure if this comes into the equation, doesn't matter. A short story: The Lotter by Shirley Jackson.(American) I found it in "Great Short Stories of the World", a 1972 Readers Digest publication. She may have also published her own anthology? If you can't find it, I'll photo copy it for you. It's only about six pages. regards,

Times UP!
Looks like not many mystery readers here. I was hoping to get more suggestions from this.
Went to the library and borrowed a copy of 'Entombed' which was the only one available by this author and the one that intrigued me the most, from all the others. Thank you for those suggestions.
The person who introduced me to this author is........................
Peter THOMAS
The author is Linda Fairstein.
Thank you all for your participation.
Congrats Peter! I need your mailing info.

G'day & thankyou, 2007 was a bad year for me, so 2008 is looking a lot better already. I hadn't seen your post revising the closing date, so I have been beavering away, making a list of Oz authors. That can wait for another day.
I reiterate those other authors that I recommended: they're all very good at what they do.
Thanks again. E-mail following.

G'day, I had an evening out tonight; checked my mail on the way home, and there was an envelope from New York - with three very pretty stamps. It is very pleasant here now: just gone midnight; 29 Celsius (= 84 fahrenheit); light breeze. If it rains tonight, I have another excuse to postpone mowing my lawn. A big mug of Milo, and some music, set me in the mood to open my American missive: thankyou - they're very pretty notes. Nigeria - poly - 20 Naira Romania - poly - 10,000 lei - some beautiful flowers on the obverse; Costa Rica 5 colones - orchids on the obverse; a colourful scene, including palms, on the reverse; Iran - 100 rials, with portrait of, I think, the Ayatollah. THANKYOU very much. I hope you ejoyed the Linda FAIRSTEIN novel. Thanks again, Peter in Darwin, Australia
