Two Homestead quarter options, the 100-coin Philadelphia bag and 40-coin San Francisco roll, sold out as of July 26. The 100-coin Philadelphia bag, a popular option for those searching for Homestead errors, saw 2,825 bags sold. The 40-coin San Francisco roll saw a huge sales jump of 3,031 rolls sold between July 19 and July 26 to end at 7,495 units. http://www.numismaticnews.net/artic...die-count-60

I've been getting the P & D Boxes. Mine come from the same fulfillment center in Memphis, TN and I've pulled over 700 DDR's from those rolls. I've found a few 004's and the rest were 1 of 5 different varieties.

The date/time stamp on them would help you get the most desired, if you knew what that date was. (it was that way on the LP2 cents DDRs)

Not to side track this thread, but am I the only one who thinks the mint is doing this intentionally? 18 different DDR's? Something just doesn't add up to me. There is a DDR found and announced it sells on ebay for hundreds of dollars and all of a sudden there is a mad rush to find this "valuable" coin. Mint sales go through the roof.

They are not trying to make these. They just happen on the DDR's. Something wrong with the Philly's hubbing. Happened a few other times on different denominations. The other mints are not having this issue. When it happens often during a series, and many get listed, the interest that was strong at first loses interest. People like to find them, but the more found makes the prices go down in value. I have over 300 DDR's for the 2009-P DDRs.

Regarding the notion that something's gone awry with Philly's hubbing, I have pondered the following notion: Is it at all possible, perhaps even likely, that the hubbing deficiency plaguing the Philadelphia Mint could affect the minting of the Homestead National Monument of America 2015 Uncirculated Five Ounce Silver Coin; emerging as a doubled die variety on that coin as well? I am inclined to believe it will not but am interested in seeing what others have to offer in this regard. Thank you.

It is a hubbing issue because the dies are at fault and we can find the exact thing happening to all struck by those dies. It is were a striking issue, then they would be many different ones. (like machine damaged coins, they vary from strike to strike) These are consistent as from a die issue, not a striking issue.

Took you up on your challenge. Ordered a Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco three-roll set. I'll post the results here when I get them.

I am keen to see your impending regards as I await your follow-on; with anticipation. Interestingly, an order I had received, closely to the day I first saw your reply here, happened to also be the HM6, Three-Roll Set: "P," "D," and "S", and: it also happened to perhaps be the best Philadelphia roll I'd received to that date; even yet. I hope you have similar success with your order.

It would have been nice to see the follow up from Atlas642; I feel strongly that the order would invariably have contained DDR varieties. As it now stands, the Mint is no longer offering the Homestead quarters so this opportunity has expired. For my part, it held true that every single roll I ordered had DDRs. I am curious: if anyone did order coins from the mint because of reading this thread, will they post a reply to acknowledge having found DDR varieties? Thank you.

All in all, I've picked about 28 rolls of these from these sets. They are fun to find and all, but there is no market for them. I've been trying to dump them on ebay for a while now with little luck... Some of varieties that I found include: Wddr-003 Wddr-004 (x3) Wddr-019 Wddr- 031 Wddr-032 Wddr- 043 Wddr-044

So I may understand better, are you saying that you have scored 28 rolls of DDR varieties, or that you ordered 28 rolls from the mint; finding DDR varieties from among them? In either regard, I am surprised that your finds comprise such a small sampling of the many varieties that Wexler has confirmed, (as of this posting his website shows 91 varieties). Perhaps my own experience is not typical but of the 19 or 20 Philadelphia rolls I received from the Mint, I have a much more robust sampling of about 40 different varieties which includes 3 "best of varieties, WDDR-004, WDDR-022, and WDDR-041 as well as 5 discovered varieties, WDDR-047, WDDR-070, WDDR-071 WDDR-072 and WDDR-073. I haven't done too bad on ebay as well; in slight contrast to what you've apparently experienced. Thank you for posting your comment.
