If it is incuse, then it is probably hand punched into the coin. (The size is all wrong for this to happen as a mint mark punch)

No, it's not photoshop, it's real!
I know it's not a mint mark, but when I found it, I knew I had to share it. It is incuse, very deep. Even left a slightly flat spot on the reverse.
It is the only 1944 D/S cent I have found....so far.

I compared this to some other 1944 D/S cents, and I think this could be a counterfeit.
