Papa Typecoin! What do you like to collect? I hope you have more than one computer, we don't want you two fighting over it to post on here!

Great Typecoin Daddy! It's wonderful to have you with us. Your son helps us all, and we look forward to your wisdom, too.

Thanks, all! It's good to be here! What do I collect? Yes. Seriously, not a whole lot right now, what with finances down. But when finances are up, I'm trying to finish my Lincoln set in UNC, finishing out my Walking Liberty set (then I'll start upgrading it), a U.S. type set (have a long way to go to catch up with TC, though!), and working on collecting uncirculated sequential samples of every $1 small note series (silver certs as well as FRNs from each district). I also do other U.S. issues, but not as seriously. Oh, and SHAFTA9a, TC was asking how I was doing tonight. ;-)

Well, these sounds like some impressive challenges! Expand a bit on your $1 SC goal - each series starting with 1928 in CU, is that right, incuding the R and S notes? What level of CU?

Coinfrog, I had not considered R and S notes, being experimental, but right now I'm not accumulating anything. When I get back to it, I might consider them for completeness. Truth is, I originally started doing just the FRNs, but decided to extend the collection back through the small-size SCs.
Right now, I have very few SCs in UNC, but those I do have are nice. I have two pairs of consecutive 1935G notes in the XF/AU range (one pair would be UNC except for those darn folds), a 1935 in XF/AU, a pair of 1957 consecutive in CU, a 1957 VF/XF with a tremendous obverse ink smear, a 1935G star note in high AU, and the best ones are a pair of consecutive 1935E star notes in CU (would be choice except for the vertical alignment) - even their plate numbers are consecutive! The rest of the 1935 and 1957 series are complete but varying degrees of circulated. No 1928s yet...
I'm not doing the horse blankets simply because of cost. But even so, TypeCoin971793 did give me an 1899 Black Eagle with a 7-digit serial number for Christmas a while back!

pretty cool that you and your son can collect together. I bought my first coin as a gift to my mom's second husband and have been hooked ever since. It's been a great bonding experience.
