Aren't there ZILLIONS of better places to spend $775?

Maybe, but they won't get you an 1804 large cent.

You need some fast cash. You take this to your local coin buyer. What do you think they will offer?

1804 or not, listen to the masses...

I am glad I do not collect the series. Filling that one hole in the 7070 would be painful if the 1804 was typical for the type.

That coin is worth about $250-300. Not a cent or penny more.

I know this coin is rare and all that, but remember problem coins will always be problem coins. Don't buy a coin just to say you have one. I would save up for a better example; you will not regret it.

I don't like offering any less than half the asking price. Think I'll put it on my watch list and see where it goes.

It's probably "worth" half the asking price. I echo those above who wouldn't buy it.

I'm going to wait on it. At that price, I don't think it's going anywhere.

Appears genuine but yeah, maybe a $300 coin.
I also don't like 99.1% feedback.

You take a decent 1804 cent to your local coin buyer you won't get a real good offer either. It is a specialty type item and your local buyer probably doesn't have a market for it. He'll either have it for a long time or he'll have to wholesale it to someone else that will have to make a profit on it as well.
