I purchased 2 sets

I purchased four the first day and had my cousin buy two. My gf tried to get to for me to flip but got shut out. I will keep two for my collection and then save the rest for trading in case I can't get Kennedy or LBJ. Once I have secured those two Presidential sets, I will sell my extra Ikes for a nice fat profit to offset the hundreds of dollars in lost value from buying US Mint proof sets from the mint during the State Quarter years.

What goes around comes around, and I first started coin collecting in 2005 by buying the proof sets and annual coin sets directly from the mint only to have them be worth a fraction of what I paid (I paid inflated dealer prices for '99-04 to make it worse). Now I am making money on something from the mint. Perhaps in the future I will lose out on stuff. I see this as like the stock market. You make money on some stocks and you lose money. Got to ride the ups with the downs.

Since the purpose of the poll is to see if the HH limits worked there would be no point for collectors who were not interested to respond..

Point two is right on with the addition of "tried but failed"

I ordered 2...because I needed 1 for each of these sets:

If I had only needed 1 that's all I would have ordered. And yes, I am missing the Teddy Roosevelt one. I will get one soon.

I abided by the HH limit and got my two.

Now, if I wasn't busy at work I may have tried for a 2nd order but didn't have the time to fool around with it and barely got my one order in anyway. So I'm happy.

That's really cool, Debrajc!

I'm working on the same Chronicles series. Picked up the Ben Franklin set a couple of weeks ago and the Theodore Roosevelt set a month or two ago. I think you'll find the Theodore Roosevelt set to be a nice set (it's one of my favorites).

So I think there's enough data to draw a conclusion. About half of us followed the rules. Of those who didn't, they got nearly triple the HH limit. I wonder how different the data may have looked if there were not web site issues. I think there would have been many more purchases over the limit.

So in a nutshell, they don't seem effective. That being said, if there were no limit, I would have given serious consideration to taking out a credit line on my house and buying a thousand sets.

I am going to go out on a limb and disagree with a statement in your post.

IMO. Everyone 'followed the rules'

If someone had their mom or sister or brother or uncle or friend or whomever buy them sets and had them shipped to their friends or relatives house...that is 'following the rules'

A household limit is just that. A household. Ie, a shipping and billing address. Tell me where it says in 'the rules' that someone can't have a friend buy them 2?

I know there is a lot of bad feelings because not everyone got some. But the mintage limit was 17k. A HH limit of 2 means they could have had as few as 8500 orders. That is not a lot, and someone is going to end up being locked out.

Thanks guys~!! I actually have a second Franklin Roosevelt C & C I am going to put with the President uncirculated and proof sets. I know it's not a reverse proof but the packaging is the same as the others so that's my plan
