Die chips , cracks and breaks in Liberty are lumped under the heading BIE. So as odd as it may seem , this is a BIE error.

This coin will be included on the COC site as UDC-1c-2011-001 "Unusual Die Cracks on U. S. Coins" & Lincoln Cent Die Breaks Called "BIE" as soon as I get an updated image. Chris I sent you an email, let me know if you didn't get it.

732Amran, just a reminder that the first lincoln die hub was made in 1909, the die itself isn't 200 yet, and the dies made today are NEW dies, freshly made THIS year. If I made a mistake, please correct me. I'm not feeling 100% today.

Childofthewheat, I'm thinking 732amran was referring to the 200+ year old meaning behind that Liberty and the cracking of the bell posibly

JC,

I sent you a few obverse shots. I hope they are up to par. If not I can give it a 3rd attempt. I need to
find a better photo setup. The iPhone and loop is getting old quickly.

I'm not convinced this is a die crack based on the image alone. It could be "sliced metal" from another coin that fell on this one and got "stuck" on top. Yes, probably a die crack but something bothers me about this one. BTW, can you reveal the date and Mintmark for this coin?

I have no idea what he is trying to say, though the Liberty Bell thing could be a possibility. This is why we use grammar when tying to get our points accross, folks!
