It's a tough call but from the pictures I don't see anything on the edge to make me believe it's not a rim Cud.

Quote:
It is a die break or in other words, a piece of die the is missing. This is the first qualification for a Cud. Second qualifier; the missing piece involves the rim and a small area of the interior of the die. With those two conditions being met,it is then a Cud

Thanks Chequer, maybe there is a difference between a rim Cud and a Cud. The more I learn, the more I learn there's more to learn.
I don't think it matches Mike's definition either though.

I thought it had to interact with the field also but researching the Cuds website half of the listed quarters don't. http://cuds-on-coins.com/washington...tate-terr-2/

I'll have to contact BJ and get his opinion. I'm trying not to bother him too much. I think one attribution a week is a safe bet.

If I'm correct the difference is Cud is from a die break and does include the rim as well as part of the field but a rim Cud is only on the rim and the result of a chipped collar

Does the reeding on the edge in that area look normal, or flattened?

Good for you, Chronoswiss. Nice Rim Cud. My sorries to all, the confusion was mine. I was using the wrong definition for this Rim Cod.
