Why collectible? Is it because PCGS sometimes undergraded? lol

I am partial to the toning on the 76-S. Are these holders about the same size as the older ANACS holders?

I just compared holders, these are just a little smaller than the current PCGS holders.
Does anyone have a link that shows the different types, different year holders?

I like the old green holders best of all. They're simple and straightforward - and don't have't all the flashy "pizazz" (neon colors, big lettering, pictures, holographic effects, etc) of the new holders that I personally dislike and find annoying - and feel distract from the coin.
Less holder and more coin!

The Doily holder is very desirable too. This was PCGS's first gen holder. 86-88?

Condor - Are you the author of a detailed description of PCGS and NGC slab history on another coin forum? If so, it is very informative.

Quote: Why collectible? PCGS was much stricter back then than they are now, so people like these holders because they can crack the coin out and resubmit it and they have a really good chance of the coin coming back with a higher grade.

And please it's Conder, a Condor is a large carrion eating bird. car·ri·on #712;ker#275;#601;n/ noun the decaying flesh of dead animals. I may have strange tastes in food at times but I don't go that far.
