Quote: To clarify, that auction was a pre-sale which ended about 10 days before PCGS initially closed their California offices, and the message from the seller indicates that he hadn't received the coins yet but should be getting them soon, is that right? Seems to me that this may not be completely the seller's fault. This is the listing 133350294282There is no mention of pre-sale in the listing and the seller was doing exactly what I say they were. I didn't write this up to do anything other than state the facts. Since my feedback was removed as a favor to the seller, I thought I would post here. I am glad you saw it. It is marked shipped with a tracking number that never progressed. I politely wrote several times, giving the benefit of doubt without any response. The seller sent out other same items in the interim before I opened a case and afterwards that fetched higher prices. Those can be seen in the feedback of the seller. It will ship AGAIN

Thanks for clarifying. it's not uncommon for a seller to print a label (which prematurely gives a "Shipped" status ) but the lack of response throughout is a bigger problem.

I usually don't have much to say when it comes to ebay sellers as I am very vigilant and know what I am buying. But for some Canadian collectors and new collectors this might be a seller you would want to steer clear from. ebay Seller: https://www.ebay.ca/usr/519antiques...047675.l2559I have noticed that this seller is advertising a lot of "RARE" and "DOUBLE DIE" coins that are no where close to being genuine let alone rare. The fact that they use the wrong term for Doubled Dies is a bit disturbing a long with how much they say "RARE" when in fact they are no where close concerns me. Price wise is outrageous for most of the coins they are selling and its scary to think that they are deliberately trying to take advantage of those with less knowledge. Just a COUPLE examples of their items... What is even more concerning is the seller only has 1 negative feedback, which means how many unknowing collectors have fallen victim to this sellers outrageous practices. Even if some of their coins are genuine you are already taking a gamble with the horribly unclear photos...

You can't leave an honest negative feedback for sellers who deserve it anymore, ebay just removes them with a phone call regardless of circumstances. I won a medal ( At a great final bid of course ) from a Chicago area seller b_sszczepanski who finally responded to my third message and told me it could take 1 to 2 months for my item to arrive due to the Covid 19 virus. None of my other 50 or so medals from Covid era purchases were terribly delayed, Hot or Not Hot Spots. After 3 weeks I filed a resolution case and had to wait on a refund and now for it to clear my bank. Money still tied up. I left feedback. "Negative experience, item not received, opened resolution case"As soon as my case was closed in my favor, the feedback was removed. This must be the "New Normal" people are talking about. Buyer beware!

I recently sold an item (fishing lure) that I described as "ruff". There were lots of pictures showing it was indeed ruff. The buyer Messaged me saying the propeller had been repaired. I asked him what would make him happy. A $15 refund is what he wanted and I sent it to him. I then blocked him from future auctions. He left me a negative Feedback not because of the item, but because I had blocked him! ebay pulled that Negative when I explained what had transpired. I do not want complaints about items described as ruff or poor. I have sold about 75,000 auctions on ebay to nearly 10,000 different bidders. I have gotten maybe 50 complaints about quality in over 20 years. If I overlooked something, I refund the money and am happy to let that buyer keep bidding. But when it is not my fault, I still refund the money but block that bidder. Some people are not worth the hassle. I am hoping selling coins will be as easy as the antique tackle business has been. So far so good, but have not sold very many yet.

Regarding this post above. http://goccf.com/t/2392&whichpage=20#3224867 I received a medal that was postmarked May 18th 2020 on July 1st 2020. 44 days to get through two states. I sent the seller a check with note for shipping and my winning bid and kept the medal. I can't say it was a pleasant exchange of communication, but my patience ran out after being pretty much ignored for a few weeks.

Seller: gti2 Asked this seller if it would be possible to re-photograph one of his coins with a black background as the coin was slightly out of focus and was difficult to distinguish from a similarly colored background. Result: I was blocked form bidding/buying.

Had a less than optimal transaction with zurqieh_dubai also listed on vcoin as Zurqieh Negotiated on an ancient coin in rough shape. We agreed on $400, which was higher than what similar coins recently sold for but I agreed anyways. He sent the coin in an ordinary envelope, no padding or protection whatsoever. As a result of traveling thousands of miles in an envelope the coin was damaged. He has not been helpful in rectifying the situation. Make sure you research sellers before sending payment. If I had I would have avoided this situation entirely.

Pointed-out to seller "from_ukraine" that some of the coins he had sent had scratches. Got a long winding reply why that is "normal" and was summarily blocked.

olduscoins on ebay. They have a very confusing listing. As a serious buyer I politely asked a question for clarification. A week went by with no reply. I attempted to reach out again and they immediately accused me of not reading the description and blocked me. Just strange behavior. Good communication goes a long way.

TBH, there should be a thread like this for "Discouraged Buyers"... lots of sham buyers out there who will leave you negative or neutral feedback without just cause and ebay does nothing about it, sadly.
