Quote:
What is a backlog?

A number of members buy coins by the rolls, or boxes ie. $25 box of 1 cent coins. We then go looking for coins that we believe are high grade, varieties or error coins.
This takes time. So the term, "backlog" , in this reference, refers to the number of coins we have not searched.

I guess I have three kinds of backlogs. 1 currently two and a half boxes of cents. 2 about four one gallon ziplocs full of "finds" I have to put into boxes I have catagorized. And 3 a couple of tubes of "finds" I have to research and decide wether they are worth keeping or not.

I have about $600 worth of pennies, I keep getting more each week, so whatever I do the pile stays about the same.

My backlog is a mess of coins that need to get organized and put into notebook pages and I'm ashamed to say how bad it is.

I had hundreds of rosies and mercs found roll hunting. Can't search for varities 'cause I lost them all in the river in an unfortunate boating incident.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...
Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72

Backlog is a happy word for me atleast in buisness. Means there's work for next week lol. Rather have stuff to do with coins rather then sitting with nothing. That being said just maybe $14 in wheat pennies.

I have 4 boxes of nickels and 8 boxes of cents sitting in the garage. I haven't picked up a box of cents since July 1 when Chase got rid of their coin counters since I have to use my other options to clear halves as they tie up a whole lot more working capital than the cents.

I have four kinds of backlogs, all currently populated:

1) coins to go through
a) 60 rolls of cents waiting on hand
b) box of halves on hand
2) loose cents to return to the CoinStar
a) $30-$40 worth
3) rolled coins to deposit into my bank account
a) lots
4) boxes/rolls I intend to snag on the next Saturday morning
a) two boxes of cents
b) maybe a box of nickels (or nickles)
c) eight rolls of dollar coins

1A top priority) catch-up time with my significant other so I can spend time with the above
a) priceless
