I wouldn't worry to much kdr. Regardless of the color (I've my fingers crossed for ya) it's obviously a great strike, clean fields & problem free. Sure to make a fine addition to your collection.

If a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush, a coin on hand is worth a hundred photos.

65RD EASY. It's rare I look at coins for this long to get a grade (10 minutes or so), but certainly.

Looks like a Great Southern Coin picture without the logo.....If that is true, be wary.....the photos are usually "juiced" a little bit. I have bought 3 coins (all IHCs) from them and all three went back due to altered color.

Hope I'm wrong here.

Well I didn't wanna bust his bubble but that was my exact thoughts too. Ten foot pole with those guys. You can spot their Indian head pics a mile away. Hopefully it works out for him or he didn't pay much.

Looks RD in your photo. Also, looks like a variety of some sort. What caught my eye is the reverse strike. Something's going on with the device... both middle "E" crossbars in "ONE CENT" have some kinda flow around them. Doesn't look like a chip, not sure what it is.

The cheek and neck cuts now show up, so I'm down to 64. Original?

the lighting really exaggerates those marks, theyre barely visible from most angles. heres a link to 65RD from PCGS
1901-Indian-Head-Cent

and it has a marks that are a smidge deeper than those on this coin. theres 2 64RD photos on PCGS and they both look significantly lower grade than this coin.

I messaged Great Southern once and asked what they put on their IHC's to make them look like that but they never answered me lol.

Best way would be to steer clear of that seller as mentioned above and at other sites for years. They thrive on doctored pics.

And sorry seriously it all comes with time and knowledge, thats the reason people use ebay to move their problem coins. The pics can be doctored to show you what you want to see and not whats really there. Take some time off from ebay and try to look at as much material as possible at shows and your "eye" will become more tuned to untampered with coins.
