It looks like most of the scratches are on the holder, the 2012 security toonie is nothing special go to any show, 3.00 but the non security toonie is a 10.00 or so coin and sort of hard to fine. Sorry didn,t notice you are from Norway. The no maple leaf nonsecurity toonie was just distributed for a few weeks and mostly to western Canada, also welcome !

The plastic packaging looks "home made". Not a style issued by the RCM.

john100 - Actually the top two pictures were taken without anything obstructing the view, I photograph all my coins like that before I put them in hartberger 2"x2" frames. I use a higher exposure to better capture the coin in weak ligthing conditions. The clear plastic on the bottom picture actually makes the coin look way better than it is. The same occurs when trying to photograph a coin through the plastic of a coin frame.
And yeah I'm in Norway, the northern parts of it, there's not a coinsshow areound for days of driving :) SO I must order my coins, and I feel more comfortable ordering from serious dealers, even if it it just these cheaper coins. I plan to advance to buy some of the beautiful silver coins from Canada with polar bears on them, and in that aspect it will be good to have an established dealer to deal with :)
kuh_85 thank you for the info, it does look abit home made, but since this is the first coin I've ordered from over there I just had to ask :)

I would contact Sherwood Park Pennies, who is a moderator on this site. His best buddy is the toonie guru and usally sets up a table with him at the major Canadian Coin Shows. I named him KOATT (Keeper of all things toonie) 10-12 years ago back on the old CCRS site when he was the only one known to collect the ugly things. He writes the toonie variety sections for those publishing and always has comments on what others put down on websites (he has to be forwarded the posts because he keeps a low profile and not much of a talker). SPP can help you out and make sure that you get what you need that is authenic and honest.

Thanks for the shout-out Bill, but like all participants here, new members need to have the required quality posts, before contacting other forum members (moderators included) for buying/selling/trading. Please consult the rules. That said, to CCF SamleStian, and when you have reached the required quality posts, fire me a notice and I'll probably have whatever you need.

the seller's pic definitely makes the coin substantially better.
I would ask the seller for a refund explaining that it's not worth returning it (I would be surprised if they risked negative feedback over a $3 coin.
if you get nowhere then file a complaint with paypal.

Thank you for the welcomes. I will give one of the dealers suggested further up a try.
Wade - I will look into getting a refund. Believe it or not the top two and the bottom are all pictures of the same coin taken by myself the day the coin arrived in the mail, different cameras, angle and lighting conditions + the coin being in plastic on the bottom picture, makes them look very different.

Don't give up on ebay so easy... I have bought 100+ items from ebay and only been disappointed once or twice. Grant it wasn't as bad as that. --James

I would have to side with SPP on this one...
community members here are awesome.... get your post count up! Not only would we really love to have you as a contributing member of this community, but once it's up you could buy sell or TRADE ...
If it's just a standard twoonie you're looking for heck I'd trade you a $2 for something interesting and equivalent from your country! What a great gesture in diplomacy!
So I personally encourage you to get that post count up ! WE'd love to have ya around here more and there's definitely perks once we get to know ya!

SamleStian. The image you posted of the Toonie is definitely circulated and the plastic pouch looks like it was homemade by the buyer. I can definitely help you out with uncirculated toonies. :) As a gesture I can sell you some with no profit to be made. I have some that are cut straight from the coin gift sets and still sealed in original plastic. So they are even better than straight from the roll as they have not been touched by anyone since leaving the Mint. I can charge you $2.25CAD per Toonie to account for whatever fees + whatever postage costs to Norway. I only have a few years, not all. Contact me *** Private information removed by Staff. Please do not post your address/email/phone number etc. *** *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***P.S. The waffling around the coin edges is NORMAL and is seen on Toonie coins in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

I thank you for the offer, but I think it would be appropriate of me to follow the rules of the forum :)

I think buying Canadian circulation coins from Canada is the most effective way. The coin (2012 regular Toonie with security) you shown here is so common so I only sell uncirculated ones. (I guess for a dealer in Norway even a circulated one is somehow rare because it's from Canada.) There are still many good dealers on ebay (include me!).

Hope the scratches are on the holder and not the coin. If they are on the coin, well, they're pretty bad!
