ebay is not a store, but an auction house. The price is on an ongoing auction unless you checked a specific ebay Store seller. What someone is willing to pay today because they want one doesn't mean they are willing to pay that tomorrow should another one come up.

ebay is just proof of the concept that "Something is only worth what someone else will pay for it."

I would pay four dollars for them all day long. Great buy!

the dealer must have thought they were Clad instead of 40%, I am thinking.. or either he/she paid 2 bucks and figured they would make 100% at 4 bucks

As hard as it is for me to believe, I am also inclined to believe that he thought they were clad. I would have cleared them out at $4 each.

Technically, they are clad, just not the typical cupro-nickel (CuNi) clad.

Really, you need to think about it? RUN back there, catch your breath at the door, then walk in with a paltry look on your face and ask to see the junk silver box. Then after about a minute of feigning interest at the junk say "hey, got anymore of those ikes left"

So I went back today as I still needed a 1974 Blue Ike. I got a different salesman today and his price was $8. Needless to say I didn't buy out his inventory but I was still happy with the price. He gave me a few other deals, some free storage containers, and a free RedBook too. I guess I just got lucky that one day haha!

The other salesman got in trouble and there was a memo issued.

Still a decent price to fill a hole.

Yes I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case lol... But I've definitely learned that I can find better deals at this shop than on ebay. Every time I come home and compare what I picked up to ebay prices I always win out. It may only be a few dollars per item but well worth it.
