I have never bought a slabbed coin. If I ever do, it would just come out to put in an album. Kurt, I knew it was in jest. I hope I did not imply someone made a serious suggestion that I was calling ridiculous! How about this: a slabbed coin gets a slabbed sticker that are combined into one super slab that has a DNA signed label embedded in it that can be only be created and authenticated with special lasers!

Somewhere in that solution should be a moat with sharks and laser beams. Seriously though...there could be some form of encrypted PIN that is only divulged during the transaction that would be an extra level of security? Seems the TPGs need to do something, but I don't have the answer.

I guess slabs with the CAC sticker will carry small premium over the same grade slab without the sticker.

From what I heard, slabs with the CAC stickers were doing well at the FUN show.

Just another way for people to make money off coin grading. If you have a ngc or pcgs slab why do you need a sticker to improve upon the grade? Just like the 1957 silver certs gem crisp unc sent in for grading and people paying crazy prices for them.

You know, I was so tempted to add an Austin Powers reference but backed off. Great minds, huh?

My concerns when I first heard of this concepts were: 1. What will they do about the current problem of sticker-shock ? 2. Can I get a sticker that will vouch for the reliability of the first sticker ? 3. Should we maybe start collecting stickers? Should I look for variants (double dies, offset strikes, etc.) on the stickers? These errors will probably only occur in the first year and will be SCARCE and RARE . I think I will just go back to coin collecting

Dumb. Doesn't matter if it has a sticker or not. The BUYER decides whether they like the coin or not. If someone's buying the slab and not the coin, then they really don't care how the coin looks like, so a little sticker won't matter. When someone buys the coin and not the slab, they don't need a sticker. I don't think this CAC business is going to last.

In 'an Apples in, Apples out company' fewer middle-men mean cheaper Apples, the same theory applies to coins. Additionally, learning to certify and grade for yourself will save you more money than you can imagine, meaning you can buy more coins... Ben

i got banned from the other forum for this very statment. cac is a joke just like the first strike bs.
its just a way to get more money. such bs. I wont allow any coins I have to be crapped up with a stupid sticker. I called out a big money guy for cac and he cried to the mods. little girl. sorry touchy subject with me.
I for one call for the death of cac and anything related.
such a waste of time, money, energy, and common sense.
i hate cac. I hate cac. I hate cac!

Might be because people were able to easily spot these coins amongst a sea of slab. The coins probably sold themselves and not the sticker. If I was a dealer, I could just place stickers on certain good looking coins and they would sell themselves. quote: i got banned from the other forum for this very statment. cac is a joke just like the first strike bs.
Who needs them. If it's the forum that I'm thinking about, I lurk there somethings. It seems that everyone's mentality there is to be the smartest in the room and 90% of the posts are them just bragging or trying to influence the market somehow. CC is a much better place.
