My favorite as well. Great fun to search and seek out all the different varieties listed in Charlton, particularly during the '40s.

If that's the case wildflower you really need to get in touch with Paul on here... (I can't remember his nick name) this guy has taught me soooo much and really brought a lot of enjoyment for me in this series.

That sounds very interesting! I have searched some older threads here on CCF from time to time and do recall there being a resident expert. It would also be great to maybe generate more interest in 50c - under-rated, affordable and enjoyable to pursue. For whatever reason, I've noticed coinsandcanada.com overlooks almost all the wide and narrow date varieties and that's unfortunate, as I suspect it's often relied upon as a reference tool.

If you want a listing of the George VI 50c varieties, send me an E-Mail through the CCF facility and I will send you one... more varieties than you would ever expect, but WWII caused extreme measures at the Mint which caused the proliferation.

Yes hope so too.....getting better at coin photos is another of my goals. As it is now, I can do it but it's cumbersome and the outcome is far from consistent. I just moved around some things so at least I can plug in better lighting without running an extention cord all across the room.

I think last year someone had done a thread on 50 cent varieties. I was to busy with kids to post any of mine but I have quite a few

Silver 50c pieces are also my second favourite coin.
In the search section in the upper left hand corner,
type in "50 cent varieties," there are 10 pages of threads.
Also the 2014 Charlton Volume One has the back section
devoted to George VI 50 cent Varieties.

Most of the Charlton's 2014 68th Variety section is my stuff. It only covers some of the George VI 50 cent varieties.
