Maybe someone should start a 'post your lowball, pocket silver dollar' thread!

it is very fun and hard to do, I have gotten some nice ones over extreme hunting including a 1958 which I paid well over BU prices for. to echo spp, the demand is real.
Feel free to call me Will.

If the demand is real then someone might do well buying low grade coins and keeping them in their pockets for a year or two.

I have heard of collectors of say Morgan dollars picking a year, then wanting to collect 1 coin of each grade for that particular year. I think since a complete set of Morgans is out of almost everyones price range and collectors love them so much they start getting creative on a complete set of "something". Just a guess but maybe......

The coin that got me started in this hobby was a 1903 V nickel my grandma found in a drawer and gave to me. I think it might have a shot at pulling the prestigious and elusive, highly sought after PR-1. I ought to consider sending it in one of these days to see if I can get that lucky. We can all dream, right? MS70 has finally met its match.

My comments are general in nature and not specific to the OP coin question ...
The discussion has become one of what is commonly referred to as 'lowball' collecting ... the pursuit of honestly circulated coins in the lowest grade state possible.
I admit to being such a collector ... albeit USA coins versus Canadian.
This pursuit is certainly not main stream ... but there are many of us who enjoy the true challenge of searching for these actually rare examples that have true stories of use in our respective nations commerce.
I should author a post in the forum somewhere on the topic ... there are plenty of replies that I've made on the topic describing the qualifications of the coins and challenges to obtain them.
Suffice to say ... true honest 'lowballs' are indeed of interest to a few of us ... and when they appear on the market occasionally demand surprising prices.

Seems I need to learn more about the grading system. Hardly discernable to be PR1?
